Thruðheim Kindred Ostara Blót

April 15, 2001

The weather did not look promising as the kindred met at the Osborne homestead near Knoxville, TN for the Ostara Blót. If April showers are any clue, May flowers should be abundant!

Fortunately the weather cleared up a bit as the day went on. It also helped that the indoor feast was the first event. Beth once again made her delicious ham. All the kindred members brought something to share. It's always amazing how these potluck events come together so well.

After the feast the group moved outside to the blót site. Beth lead the group in honoring Ostara. As part of the blót, rune eggs were selected at random by the group. Each rune symbolized some sort of new beginning for the recipient.

Due to the long journey home for some, a sumbel was not held. Plans were discussed for the next blót to be held in May at Gee Creek. Everyone is looking forward to the beginning of our camping season.
