Thruðheim Kindred Ullr/Einjerjar Blót 2008
Including the Kindred Oath of Glenda
November 15-16, 2008

Glenda takes her Kindred Oath |
Chilly temperatures greeted the faithful folk as they gathered together Saturday afternoon at Steve's homestead. Of course, indoors, the folk found the warmth and hospitality we've all grown accustomed to at Jarlshof.
Saturday afternoon and early evening were filled with food, conversation, music and fellowship that led to a festive atmosphere. Talon, Johnny, Herb, Make and Steve all provided musical entertainment in a Guitar-a-thonR -- original songs sung and performed and some inprov jams that kept things lively until it was time for sumbel.
Sumbel was quite long and intense, with many choosing to toast the Einherjar and those warriors, past and present, who put themselves in harm's way and upheld their sworn duty with honor.
The fellowship continued late into the evening after sumbel until the last of the folk retired for the night.
Sunday morning arrived, cold and crisp, as everyone gathered together again at Steve's for the day's events. Once the last of the guests arrived we gathered around the vei to honor Ullr and the Einherjar in a dual blót. Steve performed godhi duties, and as always, led a very heartfelt and earnest blót.
When it was time for kindred rites, Glenda was called into the circle to take her Kindred Oath. Many spoke for her and acknowledged her quiet resolve and strength in addition to her warm heart. Talon and Felecia stood with her as she grasped the Oath Ring, pledged her troth to Thruðheim Kindred, and became a official member of our family. ALL HAIL THE OATH TAKER!!!
Feast followed, riding a wave of positve emotion and energy, and was. as always, plentiful and delicious. There was pulled pork barbeque, green bean casserole, pork and apple pie, chili, deviled eggs, pumpkin bars, salads, and to top it all off ... Clint's, now legendary, Luxury CakeR. And that's just some of the fare.
Many stayed late into the afternoon until it was time to head home after another weekend of fellowship.
